Javier mancera

Javier Mancera is director and founding partner of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, S.C. (CMM), where he directs activities related to business intelligence, strategic planning, and government relations.

Before founding CMM, Javier Mancera was director of Public Strategies de México, a public affairs company in which he offered his experience in business consulting and strategic planning to various clients.

 

Prior to entering the private sector, Javier Mancera held several positions of high responsibility in the public service. Between 1999 and 2002, he was Minister for Trade and NAFTA Affairs at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, a position from which he represented Mexico’s commercial interests in the United States, coordinated the defense of the rights of Mexican exporters, and oversaw compliance and implementation. of NAFTA.

Javier Mancera was also General Director of Liaison with the Private Sector and Trade Unions, in the Secretariat of Commerce and Industrial Development, where he oversaw coordinating the political relationship between Secofi and the associations and industrial and commerce chambers of the private sector. In that position he also designed the first database of the federal government to serve and inform legislators about the work and responsibilities of the Secretariat.

Previously, Javier Mancera was trade counselor at the NAFTA Office of the Mexican Embassy in Washington—where he oversaw the legislative strategy and the production of political debate and investment promotion materials—and deputy director of Strategic Analysis for the Presidency of the Republic. Early in his professional career, Javier Mancera founded and operated the press services company RANI in Mexico City.

Javier Mancera teaches seminars and conferences on the US-Mexico trade relationship and Mexico’s transition to democracy and was a professor of Political Philosophy at Georgetown University. He has several articles published, including «The Trade and Environment Debate» in the book Greening the Americas.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UNAM and his master’s degree from Georgetown University, where he is also a Ph.D. candidate in Government.
